About Rochester Anime Club
Rochester Anime Club was founded by Jay and Dee with one simple goal: to create a welcoming space where anime fans could connect beyond the screen.
Jay grew up watching anime, with Naruto inspiring his love for stories about perseverance, friendship, and the underdog. After introducing Dee to anime, it quickly became something they could share together. While Dee fell in love with heartfelt, slow-burn romance series, Jay continued to gravitate toward action-packed adventures and inspiring heroes.
What started as sharing favorite shows soon turned into a bigger idea.
Anime has an incredible way of bringing people together, but we noticed there weren't many spaces in Rochester where fans could simply meet, talk, make friends, and enjoy the community without the pressure of a large convention. We wanted to build something different—a place where everyone feels welcome, whether you've been watching anime your whole life or you're just discovering your first series.
We know many anime fans are naturally introverted, and making new friends isn't always easy. Rochester Anime Club exists to make those first conversations a little easier. Through socials, watch parties, markets, and future community events, our goal is to create experiences that feel fun, inclusive, and genuine.
This isn't about being another convention or chasing trends. It's about building a lasting community—one where people can laugh together, cosplay together, discover new series, support local artists and vendors, and leave every event feeling like they belong.
We're proud to call Rochester home, and we're excited to grow alongside this amazing community. We hope Rochester Anime Club becomes a place that people look forward to, recommend to their friends, and feel proud to be a part of.
Whether you're a longtime anime fan, a casual viewer, a cosplayer, an artist, or simply anime-curious, there's a place for you here.
Welcome to Rochester Anime Club.
